Sikkim Tourism and civil aviation department have issued a new shocking notice stating that now every individual tourist have to pay rs 50 coming to sikkim as a tourist in a hotel.
What Is This New Rule.
Any tourist entering Sikkim now have to pay rs-50 per head as ( TDS ) – Tourism Sustainable Development Fund . and this have to be paid by the guest at a hotel . but the good news is that it is only to be paid once and you will receive a confirmation message in your phone number and which must be showed in every hotels in Sikkim wherever you stay.

this rule is mandatory for all accommodation units operating in Sikkim this includes Hotels, Resorts, Homestays, Bed & Breakfast Establishments, and Service Apartments.
and it is also informed that non- compliance of TSD Fund will attract penalties for the property owners or leasers as stipulated under the SRTT Rule, 2025 : As per Rule 83 of the SRTT Rule 2025 , any entity failing to comply with the requirements of TSD Fund shall be liable to a fine of Rs-5000/- for the first month of default, 10,000/- for the second month, and shall be subject to De-registration in the event of non-compliance for three (3) consecutive month.
How To Pay – Its Process.
while you will check- in to your first hotel you are going to Accomodate , Hotel manager will collect the total cash needed from an individuals and will submit through an App called ( Atithi GIS ). and no need to worry your paid confirmation will be done through a message on your mobile number. you only need to pay once in any hotel you check-in first.
Can You Be Cheated?
No, you can’t be cheated as you will get a message of your paid confirmation through concerned department portal. Warning ⚠️ – do not leave until and unless you receive a message of confirmation in your mobile number.
